Great Pictures. Thanks!
I was disappointed in this book of postcards. While it does, in fact, feature cows, the photographer does not seem to love, appreciate or enjoy his subjects. They look boringly bovine, not divine. You can tell when a photographer truly loves his subject. That affectionate touch is missing here and it hurts.
I completely disagree with the other reviewer who said that these cards are boringly bovine. First of all, they're cows, they are by definition bovine. Second, many of these cards feature lovely pictures of cows: cows looking curious, cows licking their calves, cows chewing. There's not much else you can get cows to do; they're cows. Also, many of the pictures feature beautiful backdrops of vibrant New England fall foliage, which really complements the Guernsey and brown cows, especially. My only complaint is that there aren't more calves, because who doesn't love a tiny, new ruminant?The postcards themselves are kind of thin, but perfectly fine for mailing. They have nice descriptions of the cows on the back, and a good amount of room for writing. These cards are perforated and tear out of the spine, but they're not very hard to remove.
